GENERAL PRINCIPLES
About the journal:
Journal of Theory and Practice in Education
is a fully refereed electronic journal under the editorship
of faculty members of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University.
Information about the review process may be found under
Review Procedures
.
Journal of Theory and Practice in Education
has been launched as an online journal rather than a
paper-based journal in order to reach as many readers as
possible in the most convenient manner.
Aims of the Journal:
The aim of the journal is to assist in the improvement of
teaching-learning in fields related to the process of
teacher training and teaching-learning, and to make a
contribution to knowledge in this field by enabling the
results of theoretical and practical research by specialists
and instructors to be disseminated among academic staff.
Articles submitted to the journal should be about the
process of teaching-learning and teacher-training and be
based on original research. The journal stresses first and
foremost educational aspects rather than pure sciences. For
instance, the journal would prefer articles reporting
research into teaching of foreign languages rather than
articles investigating linguistic properties of specific
foreign languages.
Journal of Theory and Practice in Education
also aims to include reviews, announcements, and scholarly
debate on various topics of current scholarly interest
within the scope of the journal’s field.
Special Themes to be included in future issues of the
journal will be announced in advance.
Language of the Journal:
The content of the journal may either be in English or
Turkish.
Frequency of publication:
The journal is published twice a year, in January and July.
Author’s rights and Payments:
Papers for publication in the journal must not have been
previously published elsewhere. However, papers presented at
a conference and not published in their entirety in the
conference proceedings may be considered for publication
providing that this is stated as a footnote under the title.
A signed statement by the author is requested to this
effect.
Copyright of articles
published in the journal belongs to Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart
University. The ideas expressed in the article, however,
remain the intellectual property right of the author.
For papers approved for publication by the Editorial Board,
no payment is required from the author nor is any copyright
fee payable. In order for articles that have been included
in the Journal of Theory and Practice in Education to
be published elsewhere in any form, for example, in a
revised or updated version, permission must first be
obtained from the journal’s Editorial Board.
REVIEW PROCEDURES
Review Procedures:
All papers submitted are first reviewed by the Editorial Board
to check whether they are appropriate for the journal’s readership
and in keeping with the editorial policy and aims of the journal.
Following this first review, the paper is sent to at least
three anonymous referees for blind review. All papers
submitted to the journal must therefore conform to the requirements
of the Style
Guidelines for
an appropriate blind review.
Once the Referees have accepted the
article for publication, it then enters the publication
process, after corrections if necessary. The author will be
informed of the issue of the journal in which the article
will be published. We regret that articles not accepted for
publication cannot be returned. The author will be informed
of the Referee’s decision by e-mail.
